The Transport Flight Safety Committee was founded

The UKFSC is unique in that airlines, regulators and unions, together with experts from most disciplines within the industry, attend to openly share information, experiences and to discuss and learn from accidents and incidents.

Policy Influence

Contribute to shaping the wider safety conversation through engagement in advisory activity and consultation processes.

Global Reach

Active links with a network of established aviation safety forums and organisations, including the CAA, the Flight Safety Foundation, PACTS, EASA and Eurocontrol.

Membership has grown from the original 9 organisations in 1959 to more than 82 in 2026.

Foundation

Founder members of the Transport Flight Safety Committee were The Ministry of Aviation, Air Registration Board, Air Ministry, BOAC, BEA, British Independent Air Transport Association, SBAC, British Insurance Association, and Lloyds.
